Platform

One platform from diagnostic to production.

ModernZ reads your estate, places every use case on the five levels, and sends agents to make the changes that move each one up. You approve every gate.

Stage one. The diagnostic.

Five weeks, read-only, nothing installed.

Our agents connect to what you already have: the virtual-machine inventory, identity provider, database schemas, cloud billing exports, software contracts and your list of agentic use cases. Nothing runs inside your network and nothing is written back. Five weeks later you have a roadmap with dates, a business case, and the first three changes ready to ship.

The diagnostic pillars: agentic readiness, modernization, multi-cloud, migration analysis, commercial and contracts, producing a business case and a roadmap.

The five findings from one pass

Agentic readiness. Every application scored on ten dimensions and every use case placed on the ladder by what it needs an agent to do.

Modernization. What each application needs to reach the level its use cases require, as a sequence of bounded changes. Surgical, never a rewrite.

Multi-cloud TCO. 81 target architectures across Google Cloud, AWS, Azure and on-premises scored in one pass, including staying where you are.

Migration waves. Dated waves that respect the other programs moving through the same machines: VMware exit, mainframe exit, renewal dates, change freezes.

Contracts. Which licenses say what about non-human access, and which legal lead times belong on the critical path.

Multi-cloud TCO comparison: 7,336 VMs priced as AWS native, GCP native and VCF private cloud from one run.
The same 7,336-VM estate priced three ways in one pass: AWS native, GCP native and a VCF private cloud. Every applicable target is scored; these three survived to the shortlist.

The five weeks

Week 1
Access and inventory
Read-only connections to inventory, identity, billing and contracts.
Week 2
Outcomes
Interviews with the business owner of each use case: what should the agent do, for whom, worth what.
Week 3
Readiness and surface
Ten dimensions per application. The callable surface each one could expose.
Week 4
Plan
Levels, waves, TCO and contracts in one roadmap, with what-if levers.
Week 5
Steering review
The roadmap, the business case and the first three changes, presented to your steering group.

Who pays. Cloud partner programs fund the diagnostic. ModernZ is live on Google Cloud Marketplace and AWS Marketplace; Azure partner programs apply where the estate qualifies. You pay nothing for the diagnostic.

Stage two. Execution.

Our agents make the changes. Your people approve them.

Each agent does one bounded, testable change, and the roadmap tells it which change unblocks which use case. The plan stays live after the first capability ships, carrying each use case's dependencies on the other programs moving through the same machines.

Application agents

MCP wrapper. Puts a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server in front of an existing endpoint, so an agent can read or call it without the application changing. This is the change that takes most applications from L0 to L1.

Read replica. Stands up change capture to a masked read replica, so agents read live data without touching the system of record.

Contract publishing. Publishes the application's callable surface as a contract, with per-agent identity, rate limits and a rollback for every change. This is the change that takes most applications to L2.

Infrastructure and data agents

Migration waves. Re-platform a VMware wave to the target the TCO chose, in the order the roadmap set, around the change freezes it found.

Database modernization. Move an Oracle schema to PostgreSQL with change capture running until cutover, so the application never notices the switch.

Mainframe retirement. Retire a batch job once its workflow runs on agents, with the mainframe exit dated on the same plan.

How a change ships

1
The roadmap names the change and the use case it unblocks.
2
An agent prepares the change with its test and its rollback.
3
A person on your side approves the gate.
4
The change ships, the plan updates, and you see the level move.
Surgical modernization plus phased agentification: one plan across run the business and grow the business.
Surgical modernization plus phased agentification. One plan across both halves of the estate.
The commercial model

Service as software.

Software as a service hands you a tool and leaves you the outcome. Consultants own the outcome by the hour, and one in three cloud migrations still fails while 85% fall short of their business goals (Kearney, Cloud 2.0, 2026). ModernZ is the third model: 80 to 90% of the work is done by our agents, and we own the end-to-end outcome.

Built on published standards

Built on the primitives the industry has published.

Each level maps to a public primitive: an MCP resource for L1, an MCP tool for L2, MCP subscriptions and tasks for L3, and the Agent-to-Agent (A2A) agent card for L4 and L5. What ModernZ builds for you runs on any agent runtime that speaks these.
