Agentic modernization, inside AWS Transform.
The diagnostic reads your VMware, mainframe and Oracle estate, prices the Broadcom renewal against Amazon EVS and EC2 native in one pass, and takes every application up the five levels. It runs inside AWS Transform and is bought on AWS Marketplace.
Announced with AWS, August 25, 2026The VMware reset: a Broadcom renewal as a self-funding AWS migration.
A joint post on the AWS Migration & Modernization blog, written with the AWS team. It lays out a licensing-accurate way to compare staying on VCF with moving to AWS before the vSphere 8 end of general support on October 11, 2027, and walks through a real 1,247-VM engagement.
Renewed under 2026 Broadcom terms: 16-core processor floors, a fully licensed four-host management domain, and a hardware refresh before the vSphere 8 deadline.
The VMware estate as it is, on AWS, with portable licenses and no re-platforming.
56% annual savings. Right-sized, zombie VMs retired, Windows and Oracle placed to end audit exposure.
Partner. On Marketplace. Inside AWS Transform.
APN partner. Announced with AWS on August 25, 2026, with a joint blog co-written with the AWS Migration & Modernization team. Customers procure through their existing AWS billing relationship.
On AWS Marketplace. Two listings: the diagnostic as SaaS and the managed engagement as professional services, both live. Engage your AWS account team for partner funding where the estate qualifies.
Inside AWS Transform. The diagnostic runs as a selectable agent capability inside any AWS Transform workspace, so the handoff from diagnostic to migration happens in one tool: no separate procurement, no data-transfer step.
Five adjustments legacy tools leave open.
Most migration tools compare list prices. The diagnostic compares the full-burden cost on both sides, which is where a renewal and a migration actually diverge.
Management-domain core isolation. Control-plane hosts carry no workloads but are fully licensed. They are counted once and priced honestly on both sides.
vCPU right-sizing on both sides. Measured peaks, not allocated cores, for the on-premises renewal and for the AWS target alike.
Storage tier mapping. vSAN entitlements and datastore classes mapped to EBS, FSx and S3 tiers per workload.
Windows and Oracle placement. Dedicated Hosts and sole-tenant placement chosen where it ends retroactive license liability.
Zombie VM identification. Hundreds of idle machines found and retired before a single one is migrated.
Then the levels. Every application scored on the five levels, so the migration and the agentic roadmap are one plan.
Tagged account to business case in three steps.
Tag the account. An AWS account manager or solutions architect flags it to [email protected], or adds ModernZ inside the customer’s AWS Transform workspace.
Register the deal. ModernZ is registered as the APN partner on the opportunity and partner funding is requested.
Five weeks later. A sized EC2 or Amazon EVS fleet, the customer’s own VCF renewal costed beside it, the license placements, and the first migration wave dated.
